FWIW, I'm still getting about 175k (kilobytes) per second on my DSL connection, even right this second - I also tried downloading a Grateful Dead show in particular, and saw the same results - no noticable drop in download speeds.

However, it's definitely true that bandwidth usage has spiked recently, and the Archive is using its maximum bandwidth allocation for most of the day. I'm unclear why I'm not seeing any decrease in download swiftness. What do other people see from their home connections?

I get about 70KB/sec, but that is all I ever get. Yes, it is confusing that we are at our max cap, but an informal poll of archive folks they are getting up in the 100KB/sec range which is quite good.

We are interested in other evidence of performance. We are not at our max cap from 2AM to 8AM california time, so if you compare in that zone to not-in-that-zone, then we will know if our cap has anything to do with it.

does anyone know of any free service that tests this download speeds from multiple places over time?
